Righty tighty
Revolver magazine readers named Tool the Band of the Year. The band sings liberal, left-of-center leaning lyrics, sure, but front man Maynard James Keenan was in the Army in the early 1980s. “There’s some pretty dumb people in the world,” Keenan says. “And the more dumber they are, the more violent or reactionary they can be. And so you need to defend yourself … I understand that there are monsters in the world.”

ToolはRevovlver誌の読者投票でベスト・バンドに選ばれた。バンドは確かに中道左派寄りのリベラルな歌詞を歌うが、リーダーのメイナード・ジェームズ・キーナンは1980年代に陸軍に所属していた。「もっと単細胞な連中もいるよ、より暴力的か、より保守的な連中も。そして君は自分自身を守る必用があるだろう・・・私は、この世の中にはもっと怪物がいると思うよ」
